Audemars Piguet introduces itself to SIHH2018 conquering another milestone with the new Royal Oak RD # 2, creating the thinnest hand-wound perpetual calendar in the world at only 6.30 mm thick.

A research and development work that lasted 5 years, which led the engineers of the maison di Brassus to redesign the functions of the perpetual calendar to make it as often as possible. All this in order to adapt the 5133 caliber to the Royal Oak Ultra Thin 'Jumbo' case.In fact, the challenge was that of redesign a caliber structured on 3 levels in one, making it ultra-thin and rethinking the functions to gain in terms of ergonomics, efficiency and robustness.

The 41mm case and bracelet are in 950 platinum. The "Great Tapisserie”In blue, houses the functions of the perpetual calendar: date, day of the week, moon phases, months, lap year, day and night indication, as well as hours and minutes.
