On the occasion of Baselworld 2018 GLASHÜTTE ORIGINAL unveiled a new steel version of the SENATOR COSMOPOLITE, presented for the first time in 2015 in red or white gold.
Refined timepiece, the Cosmopolite Senator best represents the art of complicating the hours of the world. In fact, it doesn't just show 37 different times that can differ from each other even by just 15 minutes, but is also able to calculate these differences by automatically taking into account the respective summertime hours.
Entirely revisited and with a more informal appearance, the GLASHÜTTE ORIGINAL SENATOR COSMOPOLITE Steel is presented in a 44mm case with a white dial with new hour markers complemented by Arabic numerals and blued steel hands.
The indications remain unchanged: at 4 o'clock we find the characteristic Glashütte Original Panorama Date, at 6 o'clock the classic continuous small seconds, at 8 o'clock the two windows that recall the destination location with IATA airport codes separated for summer and winter time, at 9 o'clockday and night indicator and finally at 12 o'clock the small dial which, together with the local time, also displays the status of the power reserve.
The 24 locations with a difference of one hour are marked with black writing, 10 with half an hour with a blue and the remaining 3 with a quarter of an hour with red writing. This chromatic difference makes it easy to understand the deviation from the GMT reference zone.
Il In-house self-winding caliber 89-02 mounted on a plate ¾ - a characteristic element of the Saxon tradition - it is characterized by the skeletonized and decentralized micro-rotor embossed with the logo a "Double G" (symbol of Glashütte Original, one "G" looks to the past or to tradition the other to the future or to innovation, ed) works at a frequency of 28.800 a / h, and has a power reserve of 72 hours.
The GLASHÜTTE ORIGINAL SENATOR COSMOPOLITE STAINLESS STEEL will make its official debut from 22 to 27 March next at the Basel show and its retail price is still being defined.
