It took more than two years of research and development to make "La Montoya and Montoya Gold" before these wonderful timepieces saw the light. One hundred of the best artisans from all over Switzerland shared the same goal: to create a very sporty skeletal version of the iconic model. Rolex Daytona, without losing its unwavering and timeless reputation, all while offering exceptional details and performance.
Machined from a forged carbon block, the Tachymeter Bezel was developed in the workshops Artisans de Genève (independent company and is not sponsored, associated or affiliated with Rolex, Audemars Piguet, Cartier or other original brand manufacturers in any way and operates in a completely unofficial manner). This fusion of composite materials and its overall lightness are the signature of a very personal timepiece.
The dial fully reflects the automotive world. Handcrafted, each individual counter is individually painted, representing the colors of the Colombian flag, as a discreet homage to the origins of this huge sample.
The rotor now visible is made entirely of 22-karat gray gold and enhances the beauty of the movement and every single detail of this exceptional timepiece.
Reworked in the Joux Valley with immense precision, the CALIBRO 4130 Rolexes for “La Montoya” it was taken apart piece by piece, cut, angled and finished by hand. It took hundreds of hours to create this true work of art, which highlights the grandeur and beauty of Swiss know-how. Finally the original back of the Rolex 116520 It has been set up with a transparent sapphire crystal case back.
“I've always been passionate about the Rolex Daytona, I've won the Rolex 24 three times, and it's a watch that really refers to all my races. So I was amazed when the idea of making the Daytona skeletonized came up.
