2019 will see the celebration of the XNUMXth anniversary of the first man on the moon and the latest edition of theYESHH, Hermès made headlines about itself and its novelties, thanks, above all, to the launch of the impressive Hermès Arceau L'Heure de la Lune, a timepiece capable of reinventing and rewriting the rules of the moon phases, a novelty that demonstrates how Hermès is able to combine creativity and ingenuity in the field of watchmaking.

L'Hermès Arceau L'Heure de la Lune has upset our perception of a watch with moon phases which are usually an additional function built into the watch, but in this model they play the main role.

there two versions of this timepiece, both with a 43 mm white gold case. The first features a gray meteorite dial with gray lacquered discs. The second has a dark blue aventurine dial with white lacquered discs. These disks orbit each other over two mother-of-pearl moons (one for the northern hemisphere and the other for the southern hemisphere) in a beautiful cosmic dance.

The bizarre nature of this model is complemented by the reversal of the two hemispheres: the northern one is located at 6 o'clock and the southern one at 12 o'clock. floating dials indicates the time, the other the date. The quadrants take 59 days to complete an entire orbit, covering and uncovering the moons to simultaneously indicate the moon phases of both hemispheres. Each moon also has its own design: the upper one reveals the outline of Hermes Pegasus designed by Dimitri Rybaltchenko, and the lower one represents the lunar surface.

The timepiece is powered by the Hermès caliber H1837, which has the module "L'Heure de la Lune" patented and produced exclusively for the Maison. The module consists of 117 different components, has a thickness of only 4,2 mm and a width of 38 mm. The version with a meteorite dial is paired with a graphite gray alligator leather strap, while the model with an aventurine dial is fitted with a dark blue alligator leather strap. Both models are limited to 100 pieces at a price of approximately 25.500 EURO.
