In the early 70s, Audemars Piguet introduced a watch that would forever unite the world of luxury with that of sport. Now nearly 50 years from that day, the brand continues to find innovative and intriguing ways to reinvent its iconic Royal Oak, in such a way that it remains one of the most sought after watch collections in the world. Also this year, Audemars Piguet introduced a very special limited edition model.

This new model looks a little familiar, because, in reality, this is the second all-ceramic watch made by the brand (the first model, in 2017, was the Royal Oak Perpetual Calendar Black Ceramic, photo below). As with that watch, the new Royal Oak Extra-Thin Black Ceramic boasts both a case and a bracelet made entirely of ceramic with the exception of the caseback, which is instead titanium. At just 9mm thick, the 41mm case fits comfortably on the wrist while also being super light. The dial of this Royal Oak Extra-Thin Tourbillon (as happened last year with the use of a bold purple color), it is the "Evolutionary Tapisserie", black in color.

Aside from the super-thin XNUMX o'clock tourbillon, superbly decorated, the luminescent-coated white gold hands are the only other embellishments that appear on the dial. The overall appearance is elegant and sophisticated, but with that sporty touch with which the Royal Oak is known and loved.

Inside is the caliber 2924 hand-wound, measuring just 4,46mm thick (the same in-house movement used in the other Royal Oak Extra-Thin Tourbillon models and oscillating at 21.600 vph), offering 70 hours of power reserve and visible through a window sapphire on the titanium caseback.
THEAudemars Piguet Royal Oak Tourbillon extra-thin in black ceramic (ref 26522) is presented in a limited edition of only 100 copies in an exclusive Boutique, at the price of EUR 156.000.
