A clock LANG & HEYNE it's not just a timepiece, just as a fine watercolor isn't just an image, or a statue isn't just a piece of marble. With this premise and united by the same passion and desire for perfection, Marco Lang and Mirko Heyne in 2001 they founded this factory in Dresden. A year later they presented their first two watch models at the Basel fair and orders suddenly began to grow. Despite Mirko Heyne's departure in the summer of 2002, watchmaker LANG & HEYNE continues to carry the spirit and name of the two passionate watchmakers, becoming synonymous with haute horlogerie in Dresden and around the world.

With ever-increasing demand, the team was bound to grow. At the time, consisting of four members, the LANG & HEYNE team now numbered 15 watchmakers, CNC technicians, finishers and engravers. With ever increasing new space requirements, in 2010 Marco and his team of watchmakers found a new home in a private villa in the green of Dresden. Each year, the halls of the laboratory churn out only an exclusive number of watches, approximately 60 pieces, all in typical LANG & HEYNE style, made with the best materials, with sometimes imaginative mechanics and filigree engravings. Their watches are dedicated to the selected rulers of the portrait gallery of “House Wettin”, one of the oldest families of the German nobility.

Marco Lang loves to create elegant traditional watches using processing techniques honored and passed down from his ancestors. The in-house calibers are all finished according to the traditional Saxon method, which derives from the first English pocket watches. A “frozen” finish on the plate and bridges and a hand-engraved balance wheel.

Among the various creations we tried the model at Baselworld Konrad in platinum, a dead-seconds timepiece with an anti-retrograde date. With a diameter of almost 40mm, the KONRAD model is perfect for the smaller wrist. The case available in platinum and in white or pink gold, mounts a crocodile strap with buckle always in the finish of the chosen metal.

The date disc "Antegrade" it is positioned right in the center of the wonderful enameled dial with Arabic numerals, completed by burnished steel spear spheres (date hand with crescent tip). The hand-wound mechanical movement is the Caliber V with 42 hours of power reserve. The price varies between 54.270 EURO and 62.240 EURO depending on the version chosen. Also available in steel on request.

“A watch is also a miraculous miniature machine that ticks and vibrates for a lifetime and no wonder it awakens so much collecting passion. The fascination grows with the knowledge of the love of detail of our watchmakers ”.
