Two new "recruits" join the "squadron" Marine Torpilleur Military by Ulysse Nardin.
This spring Ulysse Nardin pay homage to its military heritage by expanding the collection Marine Torpilleur Military with two limited editions in military style of 300 units each, respectively in black and khaki or bronze and midnight blue, two modern war machines that seem to come straight out of the barracks: casual, comfortable and minimalist as the torpedo boat from which they take their name.
“Military inspiration is a cyclical trend that has infiltrated our wardrobes since the end of the 19th century and which often makes a comeback during the spring-summer fashion collections. And why shouldn't the same be true for watches? "
This was the comment of Francoise Bezzola, Marketing and Communications Director of Ulysse Nardin.
Dynamic lines and a clear military imprint, in fact, distinguish the identity of these two new watches, contemporary and energetic, two interpretations that incorporate the timeless elegance of military watches of the past: a full black model with black DLC case like the dial, touches of khaki on the indexes and on the strap in woven fabric and a bronze version, an “evolving” material with a midnight blue dial.
Bronze, a metal discovered in 3000 BC, with its robustness and its antimagnetic characteristics, resistant to corrosion thanks to the phenomenon of oxidation, creates a protective oxide layer on its surface. In this way, every single case produced in this material will oxidize in a different way with use, ensuring a unique relationship between the watch and its owner. Model Military Bronze mounts a stainless steel caseback to avoid any risk of allergy.
Waterproof up to 50 meters and featuring the iconic engraving of a torpedo boat (Torpilleur) on the caseback, both versions come with an oversized crown and a 44 mm case. Equipped with a Manufacture movement A-118 and a silicon anchor escapement, this model is COSC certified.
The small seconds, positioned at 6 o'clock, are embellished by the presence of the limited series number in red. The model, which bears the initials CW (Chronometer Watch) on the dial, proudly displays a close link with the tradition of military chronometers of the past, whose design rigorously adapted to the typical codes of the armed forces.
Embodiment of the military grandeur of the past and the vintage spirit, these two new Marine Torpilleur Military leave their mark with refinement. True to their name, the new Torpilleur Military pay homage to the small boats that proved their agility even against the most imposing warships. These new models are nothing more than the natural continuation of a collection that will see even more novelties in the near future. Price: 7.900 Euros for the full black version in DLC and 8.900 for the bronze version.
