Chopard official partner of the Cannes Film Festival, which started today May 14th and will end on May 25th, launches a blue version of its women's model LUC XPS ultra-thin, dressed entirely in blue on an 18k white gold case and limited to just 10 pieces.

Since Chopard became the official partner of the fascinating event dedicated to cinema in 1988, the high jewelery creations of Caroline scheufele and the most elegant dress watches of Karl-Friedrich Scheufele accompanied the biggest stars in the world on the red carpet.

Last year, Chopard presented an edition LUC XPS 1860 for men (pictured below), with a flamboyant guilloché red dial and diamond hour markers.

Also this year, the brand adopts the same model LUC XPS 1860 with a slim profile and double certification. The chronometric performance of the movement, in fact, is certified COSC and the overall quality and finish of the watch are brand approved Poincon de Geneve.

The 40mm case made of 18K white gold is relatively discreet. The real star of the “show” is its hand-made blue guilloché dial that evokes the colors of the Mediterranean, the backdrop of the Cannes Film Festival.

The dial reveals different textures: the central part of the dial is beautifully decorated with a guilloche radiated wave pattern that spreads starting from the LUC logo at 12 o'clock, the small seconds counter recessed at 6 o'clock shows a smooth and concentric pattern, the finally, the ring of the hours shows a satin finish.

Similar to the edition red carpet last year, the hour markers are made with baguette-cut diamonds and the hands, as is normal in most LUC watches, are stylized Dauphine.

Below deck, it beats Chopard's basic movement (the same that made its debut aboard the first 1996 LUC model), visible through the sapphire crystal caseback, powered by a 22K yellow gold micro-rotor and two barrels , technology Chopard Twin ®, which guarantee about 65 hours of autonomy. A haute horlogerie creation where all parts show a high degree of craftsmanship with beveled bridges decorated with thick Genevan stripes, polished corners and circular graining on the main plate. The caseback also features the watch's limitation number.

Complete with a hand-stitched black alligator strap and 18K white gold pin buckle, it will sell for around 7.800 EUR.
