Panerai pays tribute to its history as the sole supplier of wristwatches to Royal Italian Navy, with a collection of four classic Radiomir dressed in a dull green color of clear military inspiration.

In 1940, Panerai presented for the first time a new version of Radiomir, with reinforced lugs and a cushion-shaped case made with more pronounced edges on the side, a feature that will later become the hallmark of the brand. The four new watches of today, deeply inspired by this 1940 model, still have its typical shape and always show the military roots that created the legend behind the house.

PANERAI RADIOMIR 45MM PAM00995

The first model in this 2019 green-themed sub-collection is a classic stainless steel-only watch, based on the 1940mm Radiomir 45 model. The PAM00995 has the typical 1940's case with fully polished steel surfaces and a water resistance of 100 meters. It is completed with a dark brown “Ponte Vecchio” calfskin strap with an additional beige canvas strap included. The dial is treated in matte military green with a sandwich construction, with gold-plated hands and beige luminous material. The display is fairly simple, with hours-minutes in the center and small seconds at 9 o'clock. Powering the Panerai Radiomir 45mm PAM00995 is the caliber P.4000 in-house automatic, a relatively thin micro-rotor movement (the result is a 12mm thick watch) visible through the sapphire caseback and providing 3 days of power reserve. PANERAI RADIOMIR GMT 45MM PAM00998

The second model of this military green collection is also based on a known model: the Radiomir 1940 GMT. Still based on the same 45mm polished steel case, this one Radiomir GMT 45mm PAM00998 adds to the timepiece the indication of a second time zone, via a large central arrow, as well as a date window and a day and night indicator in place of the small seconds. This version is worn on a light brown suede calfskin strap again with a second beige canvas strap included. Unsurprisingly, the dial is matte green with a sandwich construction, which reveals the Super-LumiNova beige underneath. The hands are gold-plated and the display is classic for a model GMT Panerai. In addition to the previous model GMT, Panerai also includes a second travel watch in this green-themed collection, this time with an additional feature. Indeed, on this one PAM00999 (based on a watch available in the collection with a black dial, the PAM00628), the brand adds a power reserve indication between 4 and 5. Last but not least, the fourth model in the Army Green collection is a bold take on the 1940 concept. Not only does it feature a matte black ceramic case for a sturdy and invisible look, but it is oversized here, with a diameter of 48 mm. This PAM00997 it is a "simple" time-only version and is completed by a black calfskin strap "Old Bridge”With coated titanium buckle DLC and always, with a second beige canvas strap included.

The dial adheres to the matte military green theme, however, the hands are blackened here to fit the case. The dial retains the classic sandwich construction with Super-LumiNova beige. The display is made up of hours and minutes in the center, with small seconds at 9 o'clock.
