It is no secret that Cristiano Ronaldo, in addition to being considered one of the strongest footballers ever, is a huge fan and collector of watches and supercars. Given his arrival in Italy, we at Perpetual Passion could certainly not forget to show you some of his precious timepieces…

When the Santa Caterina Airport in Funchal and Madeira was renamed the “Cristiano Ronaldo” International Airport (photo above), the athlete, who certainly could not miss the event where the bronze statue of himself was officially unveiled, had on his wrist a Hublot chronograph of the Classic Fusion line, the AEROFUSION KING GOLD (price 34,600 EURO).

Characterized by a large 45mm case made of special “King Gold” by Hublot, which is said to be redder than the traditional red gold, this Classic Fusion Chronograph contains an elegant black dial with needles in the centre of the hours, minutes and chronograph, a duo of dials, and a date window at 6 o’clock. The dark dial’s complement is an elegant black crocodile leather strap with King Gold deployant buckle.

BVLGARI Octo Tourbillon Diamond

Cristiano has repeatedly shown his appreciation for Italian design, a few months ago he published his picture on his social media platforms with a luxurious Bulgari from the Octo line on his wrist. The Bulgari Octo Tourbillon Diamond, characterized by a super thin case and completely embellished with white diamonds, shows a complex tourbillon mechanism. Price around 700,000 EURO.

ROLEX Sky-Dweller & Cosmograph Daytona

A big fan of Rolex watches, especially those in solid gold, Ronaldo has numerous timepieces of the most famous Swiss brand in the world. In the photo above, he is immortalized with a Rolex Sky-Dweller Everose (price 45.500 EURO), one of the most complicated modern Rolex watches: a yearly calendar with many complications including date, month and double time zone.

Nevertheless, he certainly could not miss the most iconic Rolex watch, the Oyster Perpetual Cosmograph Daytona; in the photos below, we can see it on the wrist of the Portuguese ace in two different versions and at two different moments of his career.

Brand Ambassador for TAG HEUER

As an official ambassador of the TAG Heuer brand for a certain period, of course he wore a series of watches of the brand, including the expensive Carrera Mikrotourbillons.

The Mikrotourbillon is the most ambitious luxury chronograph ever created by TAG Heuer. It is the fastest tourbillon in the world and the first integrated with a chronograph accurate to 1/100 of a second that can be started and stopped. This daring dual chain timepiece with double rotation axis is a unique piece that is extraordinary, equipped with two different tourbillons, one for the watch and one for the chronograph.

It is the first precision tourbillon chronograph to meet certification criteria and, without a doubt, the fastest and most precise tourbillon ever made. All without neglecting aesthetics. (Price around 200.000 EURO).

In addition to this masterpiece of micromechanics of the Tag Heuer house, Cristiano did not miss another gem of the house of Le Chaux-de-Fonds, the 1158 CHN Ronnie Peterson.

In 2011, at the Real Madrid, the Portuguese wears some fancy models by Meccaniche Veloci, an Italian company born in 2006. Especially the Quattro Valvole Nite Lite,  a model in rose gold and diamonds, four separate ETA 2671 automatic movements and an alligator strap of Louisiana worth 30,000 EURO.

In a press conference of last October, on the eve of Manchester United-Juventus, Ronaldo showed up with a Franck Muller, the only one of its kind: 424 white and red diamonds set in the dial, for a total of 15.25 carats, completed by a bracelet in white gold for a total value estimated at around 2,000,000 EURO.

Also by Frank Muller, in 2012, we see a limited edition of the maison, dedicated to the same Cristiano: a special retrograde Bi version in rose gold with 7 diamonds placed at the 7 o’clock indicator. The footballer’s signature on the back. Price 110,000 EURO.

Jacob&Co. Watches for outsiders

The watch that, more than any other, attracted the attention of the masses and was worn for the first time in Basel in 2013, is the SF24 Epic by Jacob & Co., a watch designed for collectors who travel frequently. In the upper quadrant the time zones of 24 localities are indicated, selectable thanks to a button placed laterally. Price 100,000 EURO approx.

We could go on forever but we prefer to conclude with his Jacob & Co. Most significant, the Grand Baguette Diamond Timepiece, a watch that simultaneously shows the time of five different cities, with 761 diamonds that adorn the case and the dial, exclusive are the ones that decorate the five crowns. A strictly limited edition of only six pieces worldwide worth over 1,000,000 EURO.

Cristiano Ronaldo likes three things more than anything else does. The first is certainly his passion for football, then the watches and cars, which he collects. It is very difficult to estimate with certainty of how many pieces his collections are composed.

Certainly, we know that both will be destined to grow and that they will make press, enthusiasts and haters talk about them…

An indiscretion of the Spanish newspaper Marca, saw Cristiano Ronaldo interested in buying the new Bugatti presented as “La Voiture Noire”, a unique piece, which costs more than any other vehicle ever produced in history. Moreover, CR7, which already has an enviable fleet of cars, would like to add this “black jewel” to his collection. The Bugatti Voiture Noire has 1,500 horsepower and can reach 420 km/h, but will only be ready in a couple of years for the price of 11 Millions of EURO.
