The Oyster Perpetual Milgauss was created in 1956 to be used by engineers and technicians working in the presence of strong magnetic fields. Magnetic waves, in fact, are a source of disturbance for the accuracy and proper functioning of mechanical clocks. From that project was born a watch capable of resisting interferences that reach 1,000 gauss. Hence the origin of his name.

The model is adopted in particular by scientists from the Geneva-based European Organization for Nuclear Research (CERN).

To achieve this, Rolex employed a brilliant solution. To protect movement inside the Milgauss, a "bell" made of sweet iron isolates the contents from any external magnetic field. Solution still adopted on reference 116400, on the cage of which is engraved a letter "B" with an arrow (symbol of magnetic flux density)-

The updated price of the Rolex Milgauss 116400GV is equal to 7,950 euros.

Considered by many to be rolex's entry-level model, the Oyster Perpetual AirKing has always had a close connection with the aviation world since its golden age, the 1930s. Many RAF pilots wore the Rolex Oyster Bubbleback because of their reliability and size. For this reason Rolex began to produce new families of wristwatches called Air-Lion, Air-King, Air-Tiger and Air-Giant.

The first true Air-King reference was launched in 1945, with the reference 4925. This model managed to combine in a single watch the distinctive features of all the "Air" models. For a few decades the design remained relatively unchanged. Evolution began with the introduction of the reference 14000 to arrive with the last, boldest, Oyster Perpetual Air-King 116900 with 40mm case. The first of the Air-King family to be officially COSC certified.

The updated price is equal to 6.150 euros, actuallying the bar of the first price for Rolex professional watches.
