Il Grand Sport Tourbillon was unveiled a year ago as a vision of Laurent Ferrier of a high-end luxury sports watch, mixing a very common case material such as steel, with a delicate tourbillon movement entirely finished by hand.

First presented with a brown dial and rubber strap, the Laurent Ferrier Grand Sport Tourbillon returns this year on a steel bracelet with a gradient blue dial. Laurent Ferrier spent over 35 years in Patek Philippe, and in 1974, shortly before the launch of the Nautilus, was responsible for the technical bureau d'habillage, a department in charge of the external parts of the watches.

But there is something else behind Monsieur Laurent, namely the Motorsport, his true passion. During his time out of the industry and even while he was still in Patek, he made his way into motorsports as a semi-professional auto driver, driving various models from Lotus, BMW o PorscheHe has participated seven times in the 24 Hours of Le Mans and in 1979 he ran there 24 Hours of Le Mans in Porsche Kramer Racing 935 / 77A N ° 40, finishing the race in third position, behind Paul Newman.

First unveiled with a gradient brown dial with orange accents and a matching rubber strap, the brand today introduces the model's second evolution, this time incorporating an integrated stainless steel bracelet, making the watch fully in line with the luxury sports watch concept. Brushed and polished, closed by a folding clasp, this steel bracelet perfectly complements the Grand Sport, without copying the competition. The crate remains the same.

Il Laurent Ferrier Grand Sport Tourbillon it is a large watch with a diameter of 44 mm. The shape of its steel case stays in line with the rest of the brand's production, playing on concave and convex lines to create dynamic dynamism. The case is topped with a partially tinted sapphire crystal and a screwed caseback that allows for a water resistance of 100m.

The second update for this Laurent Ferrier Grand Sport Tourbillon of 2020 is the dial, which is now presented with gradient blue opaline in the center and black in the periphery. The 18-karat white gold indexes and “Assegai” shaped hands are still filled with Super-LumiNova bright and bold orange, which gives this watch its personality.

Inside the case is the usual hand-wound tourbillon movement of Laurent Ferrier, a superb motor equipped with a double opposing balance spring that adjusts the tourbillon by one minute.
