The green wave continues to infect the world of watchmaking. On watches & wonder 2021 Patek Philppe unveils its iconic Steel Nautilus 5711/1A-014, with a new olive green dial.
Born at the hands of the genius of Gerlad Genta and introduced by Patek Philippe in 1976, with the reference 3700, the Nautilus has carved out over the years an important place in the olympus of watchmaking thanks to the combination of elegance and sporty robustness. Not for nothing was it advertised by Patek Philippe herself as "One of the most expensive watches in the world made of steel" , a status symbol that was already present at the time in large dimensions, with a case of 40mm.
Introduced in 2006, the reference 5711 thus represented the return of the Nautilus "Jumbo", characterized by a design extremely similar to the original model with only small technical upgrades such as the Caliber 315 SC and the introduction of the three-part house with separate caseback equipped with sapphire glass. The fact that it is now a virtually impossible timepiece to get, with waiting lists at retailers spanning the years, indicates how timeless and universally praised this design is.
Patek Philippe, after announcing the production release of the 5711/1A with blue dial, presents the model 5711/1A declined with a brand new olive green dial, a new color in the Nautilus collection. The unmistakable design of the case, bezel and bracelet is embellished with a subtle alternation of satin and glossy finishes made by hand. In the heart of this waterproof 120 m model beats the 26-330 S C caliber with automatic charge, visible through a transparent sapphire crystal bottom.

Alongside the more classic reference, the 5711/1300A was also presented, where the characteristic shape of the octagonal bezel with bevelled corners is embellished with a row of 32 baguette-cut diamonds Top Wesselton Pur (~3.6 ct). The glow of diamonds illuminates the new olive green dial embellished with an engraved horizontal relief and a soleil pattern.
The new Patek Philippe Nautilus 5711 / 1A-014 Green Dial will be priced at 30,860 euros, while the 5711/1300A will be priced at 83,680 Euros. These are not limited editions, but we can imagine that each watch will be contingent for a few lucky customers.
