After over 20 years of production, the Glashutte Original PanoMatic Lunar has become a real pillar in the brand's collection, being seen as a classic and an unavoidable model for those who want to enter the world of Glashütte OriginalWith its classic off-center display, where the time is indicated on one side of the dial and its Panorama Date, the PanoMatic Lunar it is an instantly recognizable watch as part of the so-called German school of watchmaking. Extremely classic but at the same time original, given the originality and individuality of the display, which has always been the main reason for the beauty of this watch.

Mainly known for its traditional silver dial and steel case combination, the brand has presented many variations of this model to date. Today again, Glashütte Original offers PanoMatic Lunar in steel with a blue or ruthenium-colored dial, as well as 18-karat red gold models with a silver, black or blue dial. But what matters is the change the brand made a couple of years ago when it launched the steel model with a salmon-opaline dial, followed by the green edition last year. So not only was the display special, but the whole watch became even more original.

This year, the PanoMatic Lunar gets a striking color combination, as the green dial can now be ordered with a luxurious and warm 18K red gold case. The specs of the watch remain identical however, with a 40mm case showing brushed and polished surfaces, and overall a slightly sturdy design with sturdy lugs and a thickness of 12.7mm. The watch features sapphire crystals on both sides and is water resistant to 50m.

The green dial we discovered last year is back here. The color, called forest green, is combined with a so-called dégradé effect, as the periphery of the dial is darker than the center, brighter and more saturated. To match the case, the applied indexes and lance hands with luminous inserts are also made of gold. The display remains that of all watches PanoMatic Lunar, with two complications, namely the moon phase with the gold-colored Moon and the classic Panoramic Date with two non-overlapping discs.

Under the sapphire caseback is the caliber of manufacture 90-02 of the brand, a very attractive movement typical of Saxon production. It features a 3/4 plate, an off-center rotor with 21k gold mass, and a hand-engraved double gooseneck fine adjustment, combined with a screw balance. The decoration is very eye-catching, with stripes, blued screws and beveled bridges. This automatic movement operates at 4Hz and stores up to 42 hours of power reserve.

The finishing touch to this edition is given by a shiny Louisiana Alligator leather strap also green, which is closed by a folding clasp or pin buckle, both in 18K red gold. The new Glashutte Original PanoMatic Lunar with the red gold case it will be part of the permanent collection and will be priced at 18.400 EURO on pin buckle e  20.200 EURO on folding clasp.
