The spotlight is turned on on one of the most important appointments in the world of watchmaking, we are talking about the Grand Prix d'Horlogerie de Geneve (GPHG).
84 watches are pre-selected by the GPHG Academy, divided into 14 categories, in the race to win the title of best watch of the year in one of the 18 prizes, including 'Aiguille d'Or' (Golden hand) Grand Prix.
The Foundation of the Grand Prix d'Horlogerie de Geneve has just released the list of watches selected by a jury of 30 experts selected from the members of the GPHG Academy. Created in early 2020, the GPHG Academy, which includes over 350 key players from major sectors of the international watch industry.

Under the auspices of its new president Nick Foulkes, a jury of 30 members drawn from the Academy will meet in Geneva behind closed doors. During this meeting under the supervision of the notary, they will physically evaluate each of the named watches and vote a second and final vote by secret ballot. All Academy members will also take part in the final vote via the dedicated digital platform.
And here are the 14 categories in which the chosen watches will compete: Ladies ', Ladies' Complication, Men's, Men's Complication, Iconic Tourbillon, Calendar and Astronomy, Mechanical Exception, Chronograph, Diver's, Jewelery, Artistic Crafts, “Petite Aiguille”, Challenge.
The winners will be announced Thursday 4 November during the ceremony, which will take place at the Théâtre du Léman in Geneva.
