Omega has unveiled the new Speedmaster Super Racing, a new watch that encloses the top of the brand's technology. Eg? The new SpirateTM. The Omega Speedmaster Super Racing is in fact the first timepiece equipped with OMEGA's SpirateTM technology, a recent innovation that allows micro adjustments to the movement of the watch during the setting phase and… record-breaking precision.

SpirateTM technology equips the movement with an innovative balance spring in the process of being registered which allows extremely fine adjustments to the rate of the watch. This innovative spiral is made in silicon wafers, a feat achieved by the Manufacture thanks to an in-house manufacturing process known as THREE (acronym for "Deep Etching with Reactive Ions").

This special balance spring allows rate adjustments to the tenth of a second. This unique system allows this OMEGA watch to achieve the certified accuracy of just 0/+2 seconds per day.

Indeed, this solution required completely revolutionizing the hairspring of the Si14 balance wheel to allow the watchmaker to adjust the rigidity of its fixing point, via an eccentric adjustment mechanism located on the balance bridge.

Now let's analyze the Speedmaster Super Racing in its most visible details..

The new Omega Speedmaster Super Racing is crafted in stainless steel, with a case measuring 44.25mm. The dial is characterized by the distinctive racing-style minute track and the black ceramic bezel with the tachymeter scale in yellow “Grand Feu” enamel. A color code that pays homage to Seamaster Aqua Terra > 15.000 GAUSS from 2013 and which is also taken up by the central chronograph hand in a shaded yellow color and by the small seconds hand with black and yellow stripes at 9 o'clock.

Diametrically opposite, the hand of the 60-minute and 12-hour counters at 3 o'clock also acts as a second time zone. The honeycomb-structured dial is a clear tribute to the "concept watch" on display at the OMEGA Museum in Bienne, the first watch capable of extraordinarily resisting magnetic fields of 160.000 gauss. The bevelled black diamond arrowhead indexes are filled with an exclusive and unprecedented Super-LumiNova with yellow luminescence. A color code also taken up by the SPEEDMASTER and SUPER RACING writings on the dial.

The date window at 6 o'clock recalls the 2013 launch of the Seamaster Aqua Terra >15.000 GAUSS. Every month, in fact, the special number 10, placed to celebrate the 10th anniversary, materializes for this purpose with the font of the Speedmaster logo.

The soul of the Omega Speedmater SuperRacing is OMEGA's avant-garde Co-Axial Master Chronometer caliber 9920, certified by the Swiss Federal Institute of Metrology (METAS) according to the highest industry standards and in this case guarantees certified accuracy of 0/+2 seconds per day. This goal, Omega assures, will soon be possible on a large scale thanks to the industrialization of SpirateTM technology.

The sale price of the OMEGA Speedmaster Super Racing is €12.700,00
