The new Reverso Tribute Chronograph pays homage to the origins of the Reverso with the quintessential sports complication: the chronograph. Handing down the spirit of innovation that gives 190 years animates Jaeger-LeCoultre and, drawing inspiration from the first Reverso Chronograph from 1996, the new caliber 860 combines the sporty soul of a chronograph with a time display on both faces of the watch.

The front dial of the watch embodies all the distinctive codes of the collection Reverso Tribute, thanks to the presence of baton hour markers, hands Dauphine and small parts railway peripheral. The discreet elegance of the finished surface sun conceals internal mechanical complexity; the presence of the chronograph pushers on both sides of the winding crown is in fact the only indication that this watch embodies much more than a simple timepiece. The Reverso Tribute Chronograph is available in steel or pink gold and is accompanied by dark blue and black straps respectively. The cool tone of the steel case is enhanced by a blue-grey dial, sophisticated shade achieved through the use of the innovative process ALD (atomic layer deposition), which allows very thin layers of titanium oxide to be deposited. The delicate brilliance of the black dial creates an elegant contrast to the richness of the rose gold case.

Flipping the watch case over, the back dial reveals the gorgeous chronograph mechanism. The dial is entirely skeletonized to show the fascinating animation of the chronograph and reveal the extraordinary complexity of the mechanism; the bridges are decorated with pattern Côtes de Genève to create visual unity, and the minute and second counters are highlighted in black for optimal legibility. The blued screws are combined with the blue chronograph hands, underlining the perfect harmony between movement and decoration. The sense of visual depth is emphasized by the faceted baton indexes and the railway minute track which, as if floating above the calibre, allow the second indication of the time to be read.

Enriching the rich tradition of complicated calibres designed and manufactured in the Joux Valley of a new chapter, the Reverso Tribute Chronograph is animated by the new Jaeger-LeCoultre caliber 860, a fully integrated manual winding chronograph movement. Entirely designed, produced and assembled at the Manufacture, is an elegant and creative response to the challenge of housing circular chronograph counters within a rectangular case, while maintaining all the clarity and legibility essential to this sporty complication. It should also be remembered that, in accordance with Jaeger-LeCoultre's approach according to which product integrity requires the movement to adapt to the shape of the case that houses it, the caliber same is rectangular. A large chronograph seconds counter stands out on the top, counterbalanced by a retrograde 30-minute counter set on an arch at the bottom.

Caliber 860AA

With a frequency of 28.800 vibrations the time, the 860 caliber it features an integrated chronograph with column wheel and horizontal clutch, which replaces the more popular vertical mount to reduce the overall thickness of the movement. To indicate hours and minutes clockwise on both sides of the watch, the movement drives two systems of hands that turn in opposite directions on the two faces of the watch, ensuring its progress. The Caliber 860 offers a power reserve of 52 hours, ideal for the high energy requirements of a retrograde chronograph combined with the presence of no less than two time indications. Despite its extraordinary complexity and its beyond 300 components, the rectangular-shaped movement is housed in a diamond case thickness less than 12 mm.
