To celebrate the partnership with Alinghi Red Bull Racing, TUDOR presents two new Pelagos FXD models inspired by sailing competitions, one of which has a chronograph function. Featuring carbon composite, titanium and stainless steel cases and in-house calibres.
In 2022, TUDOR and Alinghi Red Bull Racing entered into a long-term partnership: for the first time, the watch brand is venturing into the world of sailing competitions. The new watches combine a hi-tech carbon composite – unprecedented material for TUDOR – with titanium and stainless steel, just like the monohulls with AC75 hydrofoil (America's Cup 75). Furthermore, for the first time, TUDOR integrates a chronograph Caliber in a case with fixed bars for attaching the strap.

COMPOSITE OF CARBON, TITANIUM AND STAINLESS STEEL
Alinghi Red Bull Racing's AC75 embodies the most advanced maritime engineering: a patented mix of carbon, titanium and stainless steel creates a hull capable of lifting through the water at speed. The same pursuit of technical excellence can be found in the Pelagos FXD models, the result of a similar combination: a hi-tech carbon composite – an extremely light and robust material – for the case and bezel disc; titanium for the bezel, crown and direct action buttons; 316L stainless steel for the case back and the element that houses the movement. Initially developed in collaboration with divers and combat swimmers of the French Navy, the case of these models is water resistant to 200 meters and features the emblematic “FXD” design, where the contraction of “fixed” alludes to the sturdy fixed bars for the strap attachment.

Both watches also feature a bidirectional rotating bezel with 120 notches and Swiss Super-LumiNova® Grade X1 coating, a luminescent material that performs up to 60% higher after two hours than standard grades. To easily monitor the countdown, a key moment before the start of each regatta, the bezels are graduated from 60 to 0. From the union of these elements, high-tech sports mechanical watches are born which, further highlighting the partnership between TUDOR, bear the Alinghi Red Bull Racing logo engraved on the caseback.
THE NEW DIALS

The matte-finished dials, which sport the same hull color as the AC75, put legibility first. Both are offered in the blue shade of the Alinghi Red Bull Racing team with a red-tipped seconds hand. In the chronograph model, red is also found around the counters: a further reference to the aesthetics of the AC75, in particular the red stripes on the hull.
The subtle “Alinghi Red Bull Racing” wording dominates the dial on the rehaut at 45°, between 10 and 2 o'clock. The “Snowflake” hands and square hour markers, emblematic TUDOR elements since the 60s designed to offer a larger luminous surface, are made of luminescent ceramic composite to guarantee optimal readability even under the most difficult circumstances.
THE MANUFACTURE CALIBERS MT5602 and MT5813
The MT5602 Manufacture Caliber that powers the Pelagos FXD is equipped with a monobloc tungsten oscillating weight. The variable inertia balance wheel, held in position by a sturdy double-pointed cross-bridge, is designed for strength and precision. The MT5602 Manufacture Caliber is COSC-certified and capable of delivering performance that exceeds defined standards. by this independent body and to function within a tolerance range of six seconds (-2/+4) in a fully assembled watch. The power reserve is approximately 70 hours.

The MT5813 Manufacture movement powering the Pelagos FXD Chrono model offers indication of the hours, minutes and seconds, chronograph and date functions. Developed from the Breitling Manufacture Chronograph Caliber 01, with a high-precision regulating organ developed by TUDOR, it is equipped with a column wheel and vertical clutch.
With a "weekend-proof" 70-hour power reserve and silicon balance spring, the MT5813 in-house chronograph movement is certified "Chronometer" by the Swiss Official Chronometer Testing Institute (COSC) and its performance exceeds the standards set by this independent body as it offers, in a fully assembled watch, an accuracy of -2 +4 seconds per day.
THE NEW FABRIC STRAP

The loop strap in fabric is a hallmark of TUDOR, one of the first watch brands to offer it in 2010. Made on the 22th-century jacquard looms of the Julien Faure company from the St-Etienne region of France. For the Pelagos FXD models, TUDOR and Julien Faure have developed a highly technical strap. Consisting of a XNUMX mm wide band in “Team Blue” jacquard fabric with touches of red, titanium “D” buckle and hook and loop closure system.
