From its humble origins as a philanthropic event for New York's high society in 1948, the Met Gala has evolved into a glamorous night giving celebrities, designers and fashion's most influential figures the opportunity to experiment with their boldest styles and extravagant.

The Met Gala is in fact a charity and fundraising event for the Costume Institute of the Metropolitan Museum of Art. The Met Gala, officially called the Metropolitan Museum of Art Costume Institute benefit, is an annual fundraising event and is generally held on the first Monday of May. The event raises eight-figure sums.

While the world usually keeps its eyes peeled to see what big stars like Rihanna, Zendaya and Kylie Jenner will wear... also by virtue of this year's theme “Garden of Time”, we couldn't help but scrutinize their watches!
