The Concorso d'Eleganza Villa d'Este is one of the oldest and most prestigious beauty contests for vintage cars. The culminating moment of the event is the awarding of the “BMW Group Trophy – Best of Show“, which traditionally closes the competition on Sunday evening. Around 50 of the most spectacular classic cars competed in eight categories, trying to capture the attention of an expert jury and automotive enthusiasts. This year, the title was won by aAlfa Romeo 8C 2300 of 1932.

During the ceremony, Wilhelm Schmid presented the winner with an exclusive 1815 CHRONOGRAPH in white gold with a solid rose gold dial and hand-engraved cuvette. This unique piece celebrates the preservation and passion for motoring rarities, highlighting the similarities between historic cars and the high-quality timepieces of A. Lange & Söhne.

“We couldn't choose a more suitable watch for the winner, as chronographs represent the strong link between motorsport and timekeeping,” Schmid emphasized. The 1815 CHRONOGRAPH also expresses the unique expertise of the manufacture, being powered by one of 13 in-house developed chronograph calibres.
